We were in a very angry ocean for two days before finally reaching land. Danny was really impacted and Donna had to call it quits on a night she was really looking forward to.
Wednesday
As the captain reported the evening before, the seas were quite rough. Gangways were shut so I did an internal walk of the boat.

Mark and Danny gave the morning a miss. We went to a talk by the Great Britain and Welsh sprinter, Christian Malcom. A terrific story of resilience. We girls stayed for another talk on the planets.
We met Mark and Wayne for lunch. Still no sign of Danny!
Slow afternoon and evening. Mark, Wayne and I half-heartedly did a trivia – scored three points as we were missing our buddies.
We gave the formal dinner a miss which meant we didn’t have to dress up. Danny came to dinner but definitely was not well. Our show, Noir was cancelled due to the weather so we went to a comedian instead. He was quite funny. There was nothing much else on so we retired early.
Thursday
Rocking and rolling on repeat.

Went to Ian Ridpath’s comet talk. Sat in the Lion’s bar and played cards. Weather did not improve.

Finally got to our 20s night and Donna had to leave early. The rocking and rolling of the ship was exacerbated in the lower level dining room.

Friday – Stavenger
Finally, calm and land. We got off the ship as soon as possible and went exploring in this quaint little town. Lots of shops and coffee places open.

We had a lovely morning tea/lunch before Madonna, Danny and Wayne did more Stavenger exploring. After two days of not feeling well, there was no way Danny was getting back on the ship until he had to.

Boys and Madonna ended up in the Proud Mary pub. A message was sent to Mark to join them (he didn’t take too much convincing).

I joined them briefly on my second shopping expedition. If the ship wasn’t leaving at 4:30pm, this is where we would have stayed.

We were all on board when the ship left and once again decided to skip the formal dinner. We were all a little tired of the formality and having to get dressed up!
The Lion’s pub will do us, relaxed, doing things on our time, and placing our own serviettes on our laps.
Next post will be our last. We are now disembarking the ship and getting ready for the flight home.
