On our way to Alesund

Tuesday

Boarded our ship at Southampton about mid-afternoon. Spent the two days sailing time experiencing sailing on a big cruise ship. Eat, drink, relax, repeat.

Golf
Have missed that driving range.
Quoits. Guy on the background had to come a show Madonna how to throw them. Didn’t trust her (or Danny) to know.
Limbering up!
Getting that party started!

First night, we went casual to dinner as our bags had not been delivered before the early dinner sitting (we actually never intended to dress up the first night).

Wednesday

We all had an incident-free night and enjoyed a lovely day trying out various things on the ship. It was quite warm on deck. The boys played all the games from quoits to golf to shuffle board and pickle ball.

First sunrise was spectacular.
Danny found the port talk a little hard to listen to.
Lunch time ice cream

Wayne was in charge of entertainment and somehow, we ended up listening to an Irish pipe and guitar duo. Classic was when Donna clapped them and they were just warming up.

Brain freeze from the pina colada.

Second night was black and white night so we all dolled up and surprised our waiters.

Thanks for the dress, Sue!
Our Scottish friend made an appearance.

Thursday

It got a bit rougher on our 3rd day.

Donna and I did two hours at the thermal spa. 30 minutes of that required the staff to break into Donna’s locker as it wouldn’t open.

Waiting patiently for her clothes.
He had to break the locker using a pocket knife. Even the master key didn’t work.

We spent the day on repeat again.

Pavilion for afternoon refreshments.
Listening to SouthEast 9.

After dinner, we enjoyed listening to Flav and Mary at 9pm. Wayne was particularly enamoured with Mary. Mary and Flav must have been keyed into Wayne as they played ‘New York, New York’ as he returned from the bathroom. Danny did try and find a quicker route but was escorted from the kitchen by a waiter. ‘No need for you to clean the dishes, sir!’

Wayne enjoying Mary (and Flav).
