The heights of Paris

Although height is not Wayne’s friend, we did it twice today. We began by navigating the train network to the Louvre.

Our three models striking a pose!

We then used the ‘hop on hop off’ bus to view Notre Dame and its renovations since the fire. Amazing to imagine putting out that fire and then to watch all the renovating in action.

Monet inspired photo.

We bussed to the Arc de Triomphe and climbed the internal stairs. What a view with all the roads leading to it at the centre.

Madonna, Donna and I didn’t make the cut. Danny found some younger versions.
Back on ground inside the roundabout.
Tomb of the unknown soldier.

We were convinced by a young boy from Dublin to get fish and chips at a little cafe.

In the evening, we went to the Eiffel Tower to achieve one of Donna’s bucket list items – to the top for a glass of champagne.

A kaleidoscope of friends Thanks Chris (Crash) for the brilliant description.

Although very cold and lots of waiting, it was worth the trip.

Wayne was very brave, considering his adversity to heights.

We took the Metro back to the apartment and the boys decided to have a nightcap. What a decision to rue! The slowest service with Danny only getting half a beer and when they asked for food, it was either toast or a bagel. Eventually, after much ‘to-ing and fro-ing’, the bagel came out with salmon, wet lettuce and some bits of ham. Wayne was very unimpressed.
